Sawyer's portraits of L. M. Franklin and William Louis Ayres, partners in the architectural firm York and Sawyer; photograph of an unidentified atelier at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, circa 1890s; a photograph of draftsman in the studio of architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, circa 1890; photographs of members of the McKim, Mead & White studio in masquerade, and lyrics, "Onward all ye draughtsmen," both from a celebration held on winning the competition for the Rhode Island State Capitol; a portrait of Samuel Yellin by Sawyer; portrait of a surveying team at Fort [Paque?], Alabama, 1889, including Philip Saywer; and a photograph of "Baneck Hill," Ridgefield, Conn. Drawings include three sketchbooks used while a student at the Ecole des beaux-arts in Paris - architectural drawings, 1893, travels in Italy, 1893, and travel sketches, 1894; sketchbook of travel landscapes, 1909; an ink and pencil sketch of view to the New Jersey Palisades from Sawyer's West 70th Street apaprtment, 1898; five etchings of landscapes and a pencil cartoon for an etching, by Sawyer and others, including one by Charles A. Platt; and a portrait sketch of Sawyer. Also, mounted photographs of various York & Sawyer projects. Other photographs include portraits of Sawyer, wedding portraits of Sawyer and Mildred Sawyer, 1937, Sawyer and daughter Mildred at Lake George, N.Y., and various buildings in America and Europe.

Samuel Yellin, one of the most important architectural metalworkers in the United States in the early twentieth century, was born in Galicia, Poland in 1885. He was trained in Europe and traveled there before he immigrated to the United States. Yellin settled in Philadelphia, where he remained for the rest of his life.
